Nocturnal Farm Animals Game

Young kids are fascinated with animals. To help kids expand on that natural curiosity we had a Farm Week to explore not only farm animals, but nocturnal farm animals. This was a really fun free printable science game for toddler, preschool, and kindergarten kids that is easy to play.

FREE Nocturnal Farm Animals - This is such a fun, simple-to-play science game for Kids. LOW PREP! Perfect for preschool, prek, kindergarten, first grade, and 2nd grade kids learning about farm animals.

Learning about Nocturnal Farm Animals for Kids

In preparation for our Farm Week in Preschool I created this game to help my kid learn which farm animals are nocturnal while reinforcing counting in a non-abstract way, taking turns, and having fun while learning.

  • Game board (2 options: easier one shown above & one where the nocturnal are not in a different colored circle)

  • Game Pieces (4 primary color tractors)

  • Inserts for Photo Stacking Cubes

  • Instructions

To play you roll the dice. If you are on a nocturnal animal you need to roll a moon to symbolize nocturnal. If you land on a diurnal (less commonly known term for animal that is away during the day) you need to roll a sun. If you land on the correct time of day, you get to move the number indicated on the die. The next person does the same.  The point is to get your tractor from the farmer to the barn.
