Have some math fun this Valentine's Day with Valentine Candy Estimation Activity. This is a lot of fun for preschool or homeschooling kindergarten and 1st grade families to practice some math concepts in a fun seasonal way with conversation hearts.
Valentine's Day Math Activity
Minnie enjoyed some Valentine’s Day cool math games this week! {She is currently 4 years old.} This is a SUPER simple, fun activity.
Candy Heart Estimation Activity
- Trace your child’s hand on a piece of paper
- Fill their hand with Valentine candy hearts
- Have them guess how many hearts there are (a great math skill)
- If you have more than one child have them guess who will have more (i.e. did they grasp that older children have bigger hands therefore will fit more candy?)
- Count the candy (I had my Kindergartner put them in piles of 10 (you can count by 1s, 2s, 5s, or 10s depending on what skill you are practicing)
- Write the actual count at the bottom. How close where they?
- Chocolate {scented} Playdoh
- Valentine’ Cookies Bath
- Valentine’s Day Countdown
