Valentine’s Day – Candy Heart Estimation

Kids will love a Valentines Day Math Activity where they will not only enjoy a fun kids activity, but learn about estimation too.







Have some math fun this Valentine's Day with Valentine Candy Estimation Activity. This is a lot of fun for preschool or homeschooling kindergarten and 1st grade families to practice some math concepts in a fun seasonal way with conversation hearts.

Valentine's Day Math Activity

Minnie enjoyed some Valentine’s Day cool math games this week! {She is currently 4 years old.} This is a SUPER simple, fun activity.

Candy Heart Estimation Activity

1. Trace your child’s hand on a piece of paper


2. Fill their hand with Valentine candy hearts


3. Have them guess how many hearts there are (a great math skill)


4. If you have more than one child have them guess who will have more (i.e. did they grasp that older children have bigger hands therefore will fit more candy?)


5. Count the candy (I had my Kindergartner put them in piles of 10 (you can count by 1s, 2s, 5s, or 10s depending on what skill you are practicing)


6. Write the actual count at the bottom. How close where they?
