This simple to prepare activity will help kids in 1st-4th grade learn the Books of the Bible in a fun, hands on way!
Build the Bookcase
The bookcase can be made out of a white board, bulletin board, a blank wall, or like in our case – a piece of wood.
My husband built our bookcase form scrap pine wood we had laying around. Our bookcase measures 42” side by 5 1/2 “ tall. He nailed 2 pieces of wood to the end to make the bookends and to make the board stand up.
We have the Old Testament books on one side and the New Testament books on the other – this allows two groups of kids to be working on the books at the same time.
Assemble the Books
To get all the book spines with the Books of the Bible you’ll need to print the free document below. It is 7 pages in color.
Laminate the pages and cut out the book spines. (NOTE: The Old Testament books are written in white and the New Testament books are written in black for ease of use.)
We used these sticker magnets for the kids to affix the books to the wood. Just put one sticker magnet on the wood and another one on the wood. HINT: You may need two magnets for the really large books.
We store all the loose spines in a ziplock bag with Old Testament in one bag and New Testament in another bag.
