Simple Machines Memory Game
This is a very simple game that will help kids learn and review the six simple machines: wedge, wheel & axel, screws, inclined planes, levers, and pulleys.
A wide range of ages will enjoy this science game from Kindergarten – 5th grade students.
Included in the game are the following 4 cards about each of the six simple machines:
- Simple machine word & picture
- Definition
- Real Word Example #1
- Real Word Example #2
Game Set-up:
- Print all 4 pages in color
- Laminate all 4 pages for durability (HINT: You will want to print on cardstock or put this page & a piece of construction paper back to back before you laminate to give your playing cards a colored, hard to see-through back)
- Cut apart the playing cards
How to Play
To play this game just shuffle cards and place in rows with the printed side face down. Play like memory where a player flips over two cards. If the cards have the same border color they are both information on the same simple machine – that’s a match! If you make a match you go again, if not it’s the next persons turn.
Continue taking turns until all the cards have been matched.
