What book should you use with this study?
You can use any book about these Famous American you’d like. Personally, we used the Who Was series by the Penguin Group. These books are written for 3rd-6th graders, but children of all ages will enjoy these well told biographies as family read alouds. There are black & white illustrations on almost every page making it come alive to young readers.
Mike Venezia has a series that are also a great pick. They are shorter, with more illustrations. These are a good choice for under 2nd grade crowd, although my K & 2nd graders loved the Who Was series we read aloud together.
