President’s Day Abraham Lincoln Craft for Kids

This is a simple to make Abraham Lincoln craft that will remind kids of his memorable stovepipe hat. To make it you just need 2 pieces of black construction paper, 1 piece of white construction paper, scissors, tape, and a marker.

  • Cut 2” off one piece of paper lengthwise to be the wide part of the bottom of the hat

  • On the 2nd piece of black paper cut about 1” off each side curving the bottom parts.

  • On 1/2 of a piece of white paper cut out a shape similar to mine to make the visible part of Abraham Lincoln’s face around his beard

  • Draw Abraham Lincoln’s eyes, nose, mouth, and pink cheeks – glue onto the rounded edge piece of construction paper

  • Cut out 1-2” half circles out of the white paper and tape onto sides of Abraham Lincoln’s beard

  • Finally attach the initially cut black paper to about 3” above Abraham Lincoln’s face. Add 2” wide horizontal pice of paper to make the hat brim.

  • Add a famous quote from Abraham Lincoln (free copywork or 5 famous quotes here)
