dump all ingredients in your bread machine

Put all the following ingredients in your bread machine in the order recommended by your bread machine (we do wet followed by dry, ending with yeast):

  • 1 cup warm milk (I microwave it for 2 minutes, pour in the machine, and allow to cool while I gather all the other ingredients)

  • 6 Tablespoons butter melted (microwave 30 seconds)

  • 2 eggs (make sure your other ingredients are ready to add in so egg doesn’t start to cook in warm milk or butter)

  • 1 teas salt

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

place all ingredients in your bread machine

Set your bread machine for the dough cycle which will take about 90 minutes.

put cinnamon roll dough on floured surface

Put dough on a floured surface, cover with a towel, and allow to rest 10 minutes.

cinnamon roll filling

While the dough rests, mix together the filling:

  • 6 Tablespoons soft butter (not melted)

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons ground cinnamon

This dough rolls out super easily the first time

This dough comes out perfect. No kneading or re-rolling with this dough; it is literally perfect.

roll out cinnamon rolls and sprinkle with cinnamon brown sugar mix

Roll out the dough until it is about 16x21”. Sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar mixture.

carefully start rolling up the dough

Roll up the dough carefully and tightly.

slice the log into 12 slices

Now you have a 16” swirled log. Carefully cut 12 slices.

Hint: To make sure they are even start by cutting the log in half, then each half in half. Then each of these 4 sections gets cut into 3 pieces.

i recommend using a bread knife

I recommend using a bread knife so that the dough will maintain it’s shape. Just be careful that you do it on a cutting board or don’t cut all the way down or it could damage your counter top.

place in a buttered 9x13 pan

Place each of the 12 slices in a buttered 9x13 pan.

SAVE FOR TOMORROW: At this point you can cover the pan and put it in the refrigerator and bake it tomorrow morning. It will taste exactly the same and will make the morning a breeze!

Cover and allow the rolls to rest on top of the oven for 30 minutes while the oven preheats.

Bake at 400 F for 15 minutes.

cream cheese frosting for cinnamon rolls

  • 5 Tablespoons butter, softened

This is the best cinnamon roll recipe you are ever going to taste. It is gooey, delicious, easy to make, and comes out perfect every time!

INGREDIENTS:

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 cup warm milk

  • 2 eggs

  • 6 Tablespoons butter, melted

  • 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teas salt

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

Filling

  • 6 Tablespoons butter, softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons cinnamon

Frosting

  • 5 Tablespoons butter, softened

  • 4 oz cream cheese

  • 1/2 teas vanilla

  • dash of salt

  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Put all dough ingredients in your bread machine and set for dough cycle.

HINT: If you don't have a bread machine, knead dough 5 minutes, using only as much flour as you need to not let it stick to your hands. Put in bowl, cover with damp towel and set in a warm place to rise for 1-2 hours.

  2. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface in a large rectangle (about 12x15").

  3. Mix together all filing ingredients and sprinkle on dough. Roll up the dough so that the longest side becomes all rolled up.

  4. Cut cinnamon roll log into 12 equal slices and put in buttered 9x13 pan and allow to sit for 30 minutes while oven preheats to 400 F.

HINT: I use a knife to cut bread so the rolls keep their nice circle shape.

  5. Bake for 15 minutes. While baking whip together frosting. Spread frosting on hot rolls that just came out of the oven. Serve warm.

notes

You can make these rolls ahead of time by going all the way up to the step where you put the rolled up dough in the buttered 9x13 pan. No refrigerate up to 2 days. Let pan come to room temperature while you preheat the oven; cook and frost as usual.
