We're heading into the beautiful summer season which means visits to the amusement parks. My kids' favorite treat is always the cotton candy. Those long summer days make for a lot of fun outdoors but it doesn't mean you can't get any learning done as well.
My daughter is working on her letters and it's nice to get away from those boring worksheets and have fun with puzzles. I love when they're learning but it doesn't look like it because they're having so much fun. I'm always on the lookout for fun preschool activities and since he loves puzzles so it was a natural for me to pair letters with puzzles.
My kids love their worksheets, but it's nice when you can turn those printables into more interactive activities so that they can learn in different ways without the need for a pencil and paper. Kids also need a variety of hands-on activities so it's a wonderful idea to give them a variety of learning opportunities especially if they are struggling with a new concept.
So when I teach my child the alphabet, we play games, sing, watch videos, create sensory bins, puzzles and printables so it's not the same old boring thing each day.
Alphabet Puzzles
- Printer
- Cardstock
- Laminator (optional)
- Scissors
Print these out onto cards stock, you can laminate them to make them last longer if you'd like. Cut them and they're ready to go. Depending on where your child is at with their letter recognition, you could throw them all into a pile and let them have it or you may choose to only do a few letters at a time so they don't get overwhelmed.
Just keep it fun without any pressure and these puzzles will be a delight to your child.
You can also use magnetic letters to create your own Alphabet Learning Tray.
