This is a frugal memory game idea since it reuses cardboard. It is easy to make too!
What you need:
- Cardboard
- Gingerbread man cookie cutter
- White paint
- Markers
- Scissors
What to do:
Make your own stamping pad by using a thin foam piece/sponge in a container. Add the paint to the sponge. Press the cookie cutter on the sponge and press onto the cardboard(little kids can help with this part). Let it dry and cut out the men. (I made 12 men, 6 pairs. You can do more, for older kids, or less, for younger ones.)
Decorate the gingerbread cookies. Two should look alike. Involve the kids in this process too!
Time to play!
Place the gingerbread men upside down, decorated side facing down. Take turns and play like you would play a normal memory game- looking for pairs. If you find a pair, you keep it, the player with the most pairs wins! (This can be played individually too.)
A super adorable and fun game, perfect to exercise those memory skills! And so fun for around Christmas time, mor any time of the year!
