Easter Maths
What you need:
- Felt sheets of different colors
- Pompoms(a variety of different colors and size)
- Numbers(we used foam ones)
- Plastic tweezers
Cut egg shapes from the felt sheets, as many as you want. Arrange the eggs, pompoms and numbers on a tray like this or any other tray. Let your child choose the color eggs he/she want to work with. He can choose the numbers too, in any order or you can guide him to develop certain mathematical skills like counting from 1 to 10, skip counting, number order, simple sums etc.
The corresponding pompoms need to be placed on the egg using the tweezers. This is were fine motor skills are being developed. Counting out the correct number of pompoms works on number and counting skills. Use this opportunity to extend your child's mathematical vocabulary too by using words like more than, less than, all together, take away etc.
A fun Easter themed learning activity that has educational value as well as the fun aspect!
