Measurements can be a difficult concept for kids to grasp!
Here is a fun, hands on way for kids to learn about measuring, adding measurements, and converting measurements.
This activity includes measurement worksheets for 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade kids.
Valentines Day Measurement Activity for 2nd-5th grade
Introduce 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade kids to converting measurement and adding measurements with this fun, hands on math activity for kids. This is great to help kids visualize what these measurement terms mean.
Kids will complete all the measurement problems in their Valentines Day chocolate box. As they complete the hands on trials they add chocolate answers until they fill their chocolate box.
Here is what you’ll need:
- various measuring containers
- something to measure (we used red and pink rice)
- scale (we used this kitchen scale that measures in oz, lb, ml, and g)
Measurement Worksheets for Kids
There are 7 worksheets (with answer keys for each) with lots of practice converting, adding,and subtracting the following measurement types:
- meter / centimeter
- kilometer / meter
- yard / feet / inch
- kilogram / gram
- pound / ounces
- liter /milliliter
- gallon / quart / pint / cup
There is also a Measurement Cheat Sheet that will be as helpful to Mom in the kitchen as it is to your student.
