Sunday School Reivew Games - Camping Theme

Ever year we finish up our year by reviewing everything the kids learned that year.

It is always a lot of fun and so amazing to see what they remember!

Last year we did these review game, but this year we had a whole camping theme for our end of the year Sunday school party.

Sunday School Review Games

end of the year sunday school review party We created a campsite by using masking tape to make sites for all 7 of our small group rooms. Each site had a tent (either pop up or PVC pip & bed sheet), a site marker, Bible, flashlight, and a pencil.

We created a blue lake up front for our fishing game. Plus we had a fire right in the middle of the room with wood and tee light candles. We strung star lights above the center of the room – it looked AMAZING and the kids were so impressed!

smores

We made a smore for each kid and put them on paper plates. Then we easily microwaved them for 33 seconds each. They were quick, perfect, and delicious!

sunday school bible verse review scavenger hunt

We started out with our nature scavenger hunt game. Each group had a different notepad with the bird and leaf they were looking for. The bird had a scripture reference that contained a clue. The leaf they made a rubbing of to discover scrambled letters. When they unscrambled them each group found one of the New Testament names for Jesus.

image Next the small groups practiced looking up references on sleeping bags and putting them with the correct tent showing which story it told. This helped the kids not only practice sword drills like they have all year, but review the stories of Jesus we told and that they were repeated in multiple gospels.

fishing sunday school review game Then we reviewed the people we learned about in the beginning of the year with this fishing review game. Each group had an envelope of fish. My husband would act like he was fishing and call out a description of the fish he was looking for and one person from each small group brought what they thought was the correct fish.

imageThis year we worked really hard at learning the books of the Bible. This Books of the Bible mosquito swat was a fun way for kids to practice what they’d learned. We would call out a book and the kids would race up, grab a fly swatter and swat the correct mosquito – Old Testament or New Testament.

Craft Stick Bible Verse Review

We also had bundles of craft sticks together with a word or two per stick. Each group grabbed a bundle and had to work on putting their craft stick verses (that we had learned the past year) in order.

12 disciples constellations gameWe gave each of the groups 12 blank stars. The groups raced to write down the name of the 12 disciples and arrange them to make a constellation (grouping of stars)

singing songs by the sunday school campfire

Finally, we turned off the lights and sang songs around our tee light campfire with our small group flashlights shining in the middle to give it some extra light. All the games were loads of fun, but this might have been everyone’s favorite activity.
