Lots of Back to School Traditions

We are big on traditions at our house. I think kids benefit immensely from the repetition and excitement that tradition brings; they are usually the things that kids remember their entire life.

I’ve shared our birthday traditions, Christmas traditions, and vacation tradition, but today I wanted to share our back to school tradition.

Our Back to School Tradition

On the 1st day of school we have pancakes shaped into the grade the kids are going into. It’s easy to pull together, but is such a fun, memorable way to start our school year. It is always a HUGE hit! I use a pancake pen to make it easy to “write” on our griddle.  Here is our favorite pancake recipe.
